FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Does Clarity Consulting focus primarily on IT metrics?
No. We can and have developed metrics programs and models for many business, financial, marketing and sales projects. Although many of our clients are technology companies and corporate IT organizations, we've worked with multiple industries. While subject matter knowledge is helpful, the mathematical principles of metrics analysis coupled with the mechanics of metrics selection, collection and reporting apply across most domains. We work closely with our clients' subject matter experts to devise informative, easily collectable and actionable metrics to meet their objectives.
How do your telephone advisory services work?
Advisory calls can be purchased singly or as a packaged series of calls. Calls are scheduled in advance, usually last an hour and can cover a wide range of metrics related topics. Document review effort is charged separately unless the documents are reviewed exclusively during the call.
How long is a typical workshop?
The length of a workshop depends on the intended audience and the objectives you wish to accomplish. Workshops presented at conferences are typically 2 hours to ½ day in length. Private workshops delivered at a client's location are usually 1 day long, although we have done ½ day sessions and 2 day in-depth seminars.
How many people can attend?
Again it depends on the objectives for the workshop and the level of attendee participation desired. Purely educational sessions can have 20 to 25 attendees, while working sessions are more effective with small groups of no more than 5 or 6 participants. Workshops are customized to the needs of our clients. To meet multiple objectives, we have set up workshops where part of the day was education delivered to a larger group followed by a more targeted working session.
How do we get started if we aren't already capturing metrics?
Most organizations already capture a surprising number of metrics without realizing it. Other metrics are easily captured from existing sources. While perhaps not perfect, these available metrics can still provide considerable insight if analyzed properly. The most important starting point is determining the business objectives you want to achieve through your SLA or metrics initiative.
How much do your services cost?
For competitive reasons, we do not post rates online. But we are surprisingly affordable for the level of expertise we provide. Contact us with your metrics needs and we will be pleased to discuss service options and provide a cost estimate.
